This year’s celebration of Filipino Heritage Month in the province will officially open with a flag-raising ceremony at the grounds of the Philippine Canadian Centre of Manitoba (PCCM) on June 3, Saturday.

As in previous years, the Philippine Heritage Council of Manitoba (PHCM) will hold the event at its traditional venue at 737 Keewatin Street. Representatives of PHCM’s various member associations are expected to attend, along with officials from the three levels of government.

The delegations of member associations will go on a parade along the front rotunda as they emerge from their assembly area in the back parking lot. After the flags of the Philippines, Canada, Manitoba and the City of Winnipeg are hoisted, a short program and fellowship will follow.
